Oil mine collapses in Komi Republic, two people hurt

MOSCOW, Jul 20 (PRIME) -- An oil mine belonging to Lukoil-Komi collapsed in the Komi Republic on Thursday hurting two people, under preliminary data, a source in the republic’s emergency services told PRIME.

“The collapse of the rock occurred at a depth of 194 meters. Two miners were injured,” the source said, adding that the injured were in a moderately grave condition.

There were five people on the emergency site and three of them managed to leave independently.

The source said there were a total of over 110 people in the mine at the moment of incident, there was no evacuation and operations of the mine were not ceased.
